Our history

In 2005 it all started. From the beginning, as a foundation, we were clear about our mission: to promote scientific and technological vocations among young people.

Thus, in 2006, we launched the FIRST LEGO League program in Spain, which challenged young people to solve real-world problems by developing a scientific project and programming a robot.

That adventure lasted 15 years and ended up being the largest program to promote STEAM vocations in Spain, reaching 2,200 teams, 3,000 volunteers and 40 tournaments held in different cities in Spain with the participation of our excellent organizing partners.

More than 110,000 participants and 100 million STEAM hours full of emotion and passion guarantee our programs, with Spain being the third country in the world in number of participating teams, with a total of 150 Spanish teams that have traveled around the world exhibiting the highest quality standards and becoming great STEAM ambassadors.

Beyond the quantitative impact, we understand that talent does not understand gender or condition and this is our driving force to make STEAM available to everyone, financing highly complex centers and girls' teams in our programs.

In 2021 we abandoned the project, since we understood that it did not cover our founding mission well. Sometimes a pause along the way allows you to go further.

Now we face a new and ambitious challenge with enthusiasm, this time on a large scale, accessible to everyone, keeping the essence of the competition, but in a collaborative format and above all, much more sustainable ;)

We begin the selection of OpenScientia competitions with the same enthusiasm, a little more experience, and with the humility that will allow us to learn from you.

You add up? We are counting on you!
